Roommates

I think having roommates is a great thing because I wouldn't want to live by myself. Well my best friend and I live together and then we had s random roommate take the third bedroom. She is a great person but just a little messy so I feel like I am having to constantly pick up after her. Well today my best friend and I was informed that she was leaving us for good after this semester. The problem is we have already resigned our lease and it is mine and my friends responsibility to find someone because our lease is one whole thing. This causes so much stress on us and we don't need it because we have so much school work to do. So if anyone needs a place to live next year just let me know! 

God is good

I have had a very bad week and it almost felt like nothing in this world could go right. I have defiantly been tossed around and didn't know what I was going to do. I had to work this past weekend and I had amazing shifts. Everyone was so nice to me and I felt God was speaking to me through my customers. I waited on this one family and their meal ended up being $84.64. As I was ringing them up they left me a 85.00 tip. I was completely shocked because they just left me the amount of their bill. At the bottom of the receipt there was a note that said God loves you and so do we. It made my night because I felt like they were sent to me for a reason. God is so good and I have to remember even though I was having a bad week he was there with me the whole time. A saying my parents have always said was that God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. 

Summer

I am beyond ready for summer. I can not believe we only have two weeks left but I am so ready for a break. I plan on working a lot to try to save some money. I'm really going to have to work a lot more because last night I got a speeding ticket and have that fee to worry about. Anyways I miss seeing my work family all the time and I am ready to have a steady income. I am also ready for the summer vacations. As of right now I plan on going to the beach when I get out of school and the I'll be going to New York in the beginning of June. I might even get to make a trip to California before this summer is gone. I will not completely be done with school though because I  am taking a summer class. I am going to retake anatomy so I can better my GPA. Summer please come on. 

Dinner

I absolutely love to cook. Tonight my roommate, Chelsea and an old high school friend came over and we cooked breakfast for dinner. We had homemade waffles, eggs, turkey bacon, and fresh cut strawberries. I do not eat this meal a lot but when I do I love it. After we finished eating we all just laid around because we felt like we was going to pop. Now we are all just sitting around waiting for the Voice to come on because that is my favorite show. The voice has a lot of talented people on the show and I can not wait to see who is going to win this year.

Catering Fun

As most of you guys know I work at a restaurant at home. Our restaurant is very popular and as an additional service, we cater. A lot of the times I am asked to help cater because I have done it many times. It is really fun but a very interesting job. This past Saturday I went on a catering event and I was at loss of words. We catered this couples wedding and I did not know what to think. The people were so picky and rude to myself and the other two workers. The bride ordered all the food which was BBQ chicken halves, chicken tenders for the kids, mac n cheese, mash potatoes, green beans for the kids, rolls, and salad. We had everything set up and ready to go. As all the adults started coming through the line they demanded to eat the kids food instead of their own plates that the bride had chose. People do not realize that we just serve what we are told to not what we want. I just was so shocked at how rude these people were being because they could not eat the kid's meals. As soon as everyone was done we hurried up and cleaned and then hit the road. We did not want to be there any longer than we had to be.

Mom's Birthday

Today is my mom's 50th birthday. Her birthday is only two days after mine and she said I was the best present she had ever received. Unfortunately, she is having to work today but she said she didn't mind because where she works is like her own family. She works at 13 Bones, which is the restaurant I work at too. She is the day time manager there and everyone loves her. Se really has a heart of gold and would give the shirt of her back. All I wish is that she has a day full of happiness because she deserves it.

Internship

This semester I have been doing an internship at Glenn bridge. It is here in Boone and is a nursing home and a rehabilitation center. Because the speech pathologist has a crazy schedule, most of the the time I have to work with a physical or occupational therapist. Today, I got to work with the speech therapist and had a blast. She was so informative and told me great tips for the future. The patients that we worked with mainly had swallowing disorders. She even made me go to a separate room and try the different types of liquids. They were disgusting! Imagine sugar water that has set for a couple a days, chunky thick milk, and then pudding. The good thing was that they were kinda flavored but the thought of them being so thick played with my mind. It was a hands on activity which made it really fun and super beneficial to me! I can not wait to go back tomorrow.

Birthday weekend

This past weekend was a blast. Today, I turned 21 and had the best birthday anyone could ask for. I woke up and went and got a pedicure and then went to a festival for a couple of hours and listened to free music and got to soak up some sunshine. After we left there then we went and ate at the Carolina Ale house and it was sooo good.  I got a philly cheese steak and fries and couldn't eat it fast enough! I am not a big cake eater but I do love cheese cake! My sweet mom had a strawberry cheese cake made for me and it was delicious. The best cheesecake I had ever had. The best part of this weekend was just hanging out with friends and realizing how blessed I am to be surrounded with loving people.
