13 Bones

For those of you that don't know I work at a restaurant named 13 Bones in Mount Airy, NC. I have worked there ever since they opened in 2009. This March will be six years. Six local friends came together and decided to open the place up. We have a variety of things at the restaurant. We serve salads, sandwiches, steak plates, chicken plates, seafood, and most importantly ribs. Ribs are our speciality because they fall right off the bone. We have three different flavors for the ribs. There is the original sauce which is a very thin vinegar base, Kansas city which is a thick sweet and spicy barbecue sauce, and memphis style which is a dry spicy barbecue rub. We have people from all around to come eat with us. I am not just saying this because I work there, but they do have the best ribs I have ever ate.  Besides the ribs my favorite thing to eat is a filet with a side of broccoli and a baked potato. I have to include all the yummy homemade desserts we have. We have a peanut butter cheesecake that is my favorite. It has an Oreo crust and then peanut butter feeling and chocolate over top. We also have a keylime cheesecake that has a gram cracker crust and keylime filling in center with raspberry drizzle overtop. Another dessert is the red velvet cake. It has homemade cream cheese frosting on it. The last type of dessert we have is the hershey bar cake. It is lie a brownie in a cake for that is warmed in the microwave and has ice cream served over top of it with chocolate syrup. This cake is also really good because I like chocolate and my mom makes it. If you come to the restaurant on your birthday you will get a free hershey bar cake.  The restaurant is kinda small inside. It is about the size of mellow mushroom here in Boone. The inside is rustic looking with old signs hanging on the walls. Our dress code for work is dark blue jeans and a black 13 Bones t-shirt. It is a nice place to eat at but very causal. If anybody is every around this part of NC you should stop and eat with us! I promise you won't be disappointed.
